The Punjabi Literary society was constituted with the vision to promote Punjabi language and literature by organizing various seminars, quiz competitions, lectures, conferences , educational trips, celebrating important days and inculcate the value of being connected to the mother tongue “Maa Boli”.
Objectives of the Society- To inculcate the traditions and values from the land of five rivers, Punjab.
- To create the interest of students in literature and to develop the listening/ speaking /reading /writing skills.
- To promote use of mother tongue.
- To inculcate the habit of reading literature.
- To develop creativity among students.
- To celebrate various days of historical, cultural, educational & ethical importance.
- To inculcate aesthetic values among students.
- To make students aware of Punjabi Culture.
- To work together to find a collective identity and keep up with the traditions of Punjab.
There are number of societies in the college which are related to different pedagogy subjects. Punjabi Literary Society is one of them. Through different literary activities a love for literature and language is awakened among the students .The society works on the principles of democracy and its composition is very simple. The governing body of the society comprises of four posts : Patron, Teacher In charge, President and Secretary. The members for the post of President and Secretary are selected on the basis of secret voting. Democratic procedure is followed while taking all the decisions in the society.
